A dream came true… Ron Adelaar recorded an improvisation behind a keyboard in 1998 playing with 10 fingers, using a String Ensemble setting in the computer. An orchestra sounded from his speakers. 23 years later the recording has been set to musicnotes and turned into a work for five strings, a string quintet. A professional ensemble, The Ataneres Ensemble from Leuven, Belgium, performed and recorded it on december 13, 2020. “With real string instruments it sounds much nicer”. The slow piece for strings is naturally called ‘Adagio for Strings’ and together with a piano interpretation, it can be found on an EP that Ron Adelaar has released on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Applemusic.
